Prepping for a brand session:

Preparing your space and staff for a photoshoot is essential to ensure awesome final images. Whether you're preparing a commercial space or your own home, here are some tips to help you get your space ready for a photoshoot:

  1. Declutter: Remove any unnecessary items from the space, including personal items, papers, and clutter. This will help to create a clean and organized look in the final images.

  2. Clean and tidy: Make sure that the space is clean and tidy before the photoshoot. Wipe down surfaces, vacuum or sweep the floors, and dust the furniture.

  3. Prep your people: Communicate in advance with the people who you want to be in the pictures. Think through which staff you want in each space and make sure they are willing to be in the pictures. It’s also important to make sure that you have a model release form for them to sign. While you might think it will be easy to pull people into photos who are around the office, it can be very difficult and will waste a lot of time.

  4. Props: You should gather and purchase any props in advance of the shoot. This might include laptops, papers and documents, pens, desk material, plant, etc. Gathering these in advance will save time on the day of and make sure your props are brand appropriate.

  5. Lighting: Lighting is one of the most important factors in a photoshoot, so make sure that your space is well-lit. Open the curtains or blinds to let in natural light. Send us pictures of your space before the shoot so we know what supplemental lighting we might need.

  6. Style the space: Think about how you want the space to be styled for the photoshoot. This could include arranging furniture, adding props, or including plants or flowers.
