A note for those who fear pictures .
For a lot of people, including myself, getting your picture taken can be vulnerable and stressful. Cameras have this incredible ability to bring out our harshest self-critics. You'd be shocked by the frequency with which I hear, "I am the least photogenic person ever." And still, after five years, I have yet to meet an unphotogenic person.
We are going to have fun finding your best angles, highlighting your favorite features, and showing off who you are. I will coach you through a number of poses and give you feedback throughout the whole process. So quiet that inner hater and get ready to take some awesome headshots.

What should I wear?
Here's a few tips that I typically tell people when they are deciding what to wear:
Love it- Pick something that makes you feel comfortable and confident. If you like your outfit, it will definitely come across in the picture.
Keep it Simple- The goal of your headshot is to highlight you. It's good to avoid busy patterns, bulky jewelry, fluffy fabric and logos that will distract from your face or things that may go out of style in a year or two.
The Right Color- It's important to wear clothing that contrasts your skin tone. If you have a lighter skin tone, avoid white, beige and pastels. If you have a darker skin tone, avoid black and dark shades.
I also encourage people to bring multiple options to our session so that we can select the best option together. If you still need help, check out these two Pinterest boards I’ve created for ideas on what to wear:
How should I prep for my session?
The week leading up to your session it's a good idea to eat healthy food and drink lots of water. Your skin will look clearer and you will feel more comfortable. Also, get plenty of rest and avoid alcohol and coffee which can make you look drained. Many people also like to schedule a hair appointment and/or get their makeup, but this is totally a matter of personal preference. I have a few makeup artists that I can recommend!
Most importantly, think positive about yourself the days leading up to the session. Every person is photogenic when they naturally smile. I promise that this will be a fun experience!
How soon will I get my headshots?
It typically takes 7-10 days for me to edit and return your final images. If you need the portraits back within 1-3 days, it can be done for a rush charge of $50.
Can I purchase additional edits if I like more pictures than my package includes?
You can absolutely purchase additional edits for $20 per image*. I am so happy when people end up liking so many of the pictures from our session together!
*Please note that the price of additional edits is slightly higher with the special group rates.
Do you edit the images?
All of my packages include retouching that is done to look natural. A quality headshot starts with great lighting to make sure that you look your absolute best. In post-processing, I do some blemish removal, erase stray hairs, reduce lines, etc. However, it's very important to me that you still look like your beautifully, natural self.
Will you coach me into different poses and facial expressions?
Yes! You will be given a ton of helpful guidance throughout the entire session. I will direct you through a variety of angles, poses and facial expressions to make sure you have a ton of options to choose from. It's my mission to make you feel as comfortable and confident as possible.
